A brush fire burned 33 acres in the Kaanapali fire mauka of the Honoapi’ilani Highway near Kakaalaneo Drive Monday. With the fire knocked down and roadway reopening, Maui Emergency Management Agency lifted evacuation orders and warnings for Kaanapali area zones as of 2:40 p.m. With this fire coming less than a week after the Tsunami warning, and a few days before the two-year anniversary of the Lahaiana fires, some residents say that the evacuation order and seeing the brush fire came with a lot of extra stress.
