Hawaiian Electric has launched an improved system to report power outages for residents on Hawaii Island and in Maui County now in effect. In addition to new toll-free numbers, the new system will automatically recognize the caller’s number and account if they call from the phone number associated with their account, which is similar to Oahu’s toll-free trouble line. Customers will now be able to quickly and easily report an outage through the automated system without having to wait to speak to an agent.
