Maui fire crews responded to an early morning fire at the Kula Lodge today, August 11. Details surrounding the extent of damage and the cause have yet to be released. The fire forced the closure of Haleakalā Highway, between Upper Kimo Drive and Ainakula Road for several hours this morning while emergency crews responded to the scene. The fire was first reported in the early morning hours before 4 am.
