The man accused of being the mastermind in the brutal killing of a pet pig, known as Eddie, was sentenced yesterday, July 16, on Maui. Krys-Ryan Saito Carino was sentenced to five days in jail after entering a no-contest plea in April to charges of animal cruelty, theft of livestock, and criminal property damage. Prosecutors had asked that he serve a year behind bars. Carino’s co-defendant, Jayden Jarnesky-Magana, was sentenced to one night in jail after making a similar plea. The pair entered the dead pig into a hunting contest and won a $1,000 prize.
