East Maui residents can drop off appliances, auto batteries, tires, propane tanks, scrap metals and electronics during a Hāna metals and electronics recycling event coming up Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21. Items will be accepted from 8 am to 2:30 pm each day at the Hāna Recycling Center across from the Hāna Landfill on Waikoloa Road. Items accepted for drop-off include E-waste like computers, televisions, printers, monitors, appliances, auto batteries, tires, propane tanks and scrap metals. Commercial drop-offs will not be accepted. Staff will be available to help remove items from residents’ vehicles. Any questions call (808) 270-6102.
