The 55th Annual Maui Marathon made a welcome return to West Maui this past weekend, drawing more than 2,200 runners and walkers alike across the full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K events. This year’s race marked the first time the event returned to the west side since the 2023 Lahaina wildfires, making it a meaningful and emotional experience for many participants and residents. Winning the overall men’s title was Jake Gibbs with a finish time of 2 hours, 53 minutes and 55 seconds. For the women, Grace Chow won the overall female title with a finish time of 3 hours, 1 minute and 9 seconds. The event served as a symbol of community pride, bringing together race participants, spectators, and volunteers to honor the spirit of Lahaina and the tradition of the Maui Marathon.
